The Oncidium owes its Dutch name 'tiger orchid' to the tiger print on the flower. The Oncidium has many varieties, but the tiger print keeps returning. This orchid originally grows in North and South America. In full bloom, the Oncidium has many buds on one stem, which often makes this orchid a colorful centerpiece of the living room.
